Robert Half Medical Receptionist in Los Angeles, California

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Receptionist in our healthcare facility located in Los Angeles, California. The role involves managing patient scheduling, facilitating communication between medical staff and patients, and performing administrative tasks in a healthcare setting. Fluency in Spanish will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome patients and visitors to the facility and provide assistance as needed

• Schedule, reschedule or cancel appointments based on patient's requirements

• Collect and verify patient data and documentation, including insurance details, ensuring accuracy and completeness

• Facilitate effective communication between medical staff and Spanish-speaking patients, acting as a translator when necessary

• Handle billing queries and collect copays as needed, ensuring smooth financial transactions

• Leverage knowledge of medical terminology and authorizations in daily tasks

• Utilize patient scheduling and medical front office systems efficiently

• Handle patient interactions with utmost professionalism and empathy

• Contribute to the overall patient service experience with excellent interpersonal skills

• Adhere to all healthcare and social assistance regulations and guidelines. Requirements • Proficiency in the Spanish language is required

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical receptionist role or similar

• Proficient in patient scheduling and coordinating appointments

• Knowledge of medical insurance verification processes

• Experience in managing medical front office operations

• Familiarity with Medi-Cal and the ability to handle related tasks

• Strong understanding of medical terminology

• Ability to handle authorizations efficiently within the healthcare setting

• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification. Further education in medical administration is a plus

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality

• Good organizational skills and ability to multitask

• Proficiency in using medical software and computer systems
