Robert Half Staff Accountant in North Hollywood, California

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team based in Van Nuys, California. This role involves performing various accounting duties and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and reconciling assigned accounts, including bank reconciliations, and assisting with analysis and reporting of business results.

Responsibilities:

• Support month-end and year-end closes, including assigned journal entries, balance-sheet account reconciliations, and accruals.

• Assist with preparation of financial statements and other related schedules for internal and external reporting.

• Prepare and reconcile bank and credit card statements.

• Ensure all financial transactions within the company are accounted for.

• Review and approve month-end and quarter-end sales, and use tax returns.

• Assist with the annual audit process and prepare necessary support schedules.

• Manage Accounts Receivables for a growing wholesale division and partner with Sales and Operations departments with new customer set-up.

• Maintain and update records and reports for profit and loss, sales taxes, liabilities, and assets.

• Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

• Conduct analysis and reporting of business results.

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role

• Should possess a strong understanding and experience of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is necessary

• Familiarity with General Ledger and Journal Entries is required

• Must have experience with Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in using financial software, specifically NetSuite, is essential

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

• Should possess excellent communication and organizational skills

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required

• Must adhere to ethical standards and comply with company policies and regulations

• Should be able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
