The Helpdesk Systems Administrator is responsible for partnering and working with other team members to monitor, support, implement, and deliver operational and improvements in technology. They must maintain security policies processes, monitor and tune network performance, and analyze systems for potential issues. The job will require occasionally working late, weekends or as IT issues dictate. Acts as first level of escalation for complex tasks not easily addressed by Help Desk staff.
Responsible for addressing customer inquiries via phone and email (trouble-tickets), phone and walk-ins.
Repairing and recovering from hardware or software failures
Install, configure, and troubleshoot complex computer issues and networking specific hardware (laptops, workstations, printers, multifunction, monitors, servers, stands and other peripherals
Maintain passwords, data integrity, and system security for the desktop environment.
Simulate or recreate user issues to better understand and resolve reported problems.
Maintenance, backup, and warranty status of servers, network storage devices, and companywide software
Build, maintain and install desktop/laptop images for a various range of computer system models.
Perform preventative maintenance, testing, and repair of computer hardware.
Plan, organize, and prioritize outstanding issues.
Identify the nature of the issue and appropriate escalation team(s).
Follow established procedures on daily work, occasionally utilizing best judgment when applicable. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
5 years of IT Help Desk or related technical experience.
Working knowledge of PC hardware and software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair
Knowledgeable with Microsoft Operating Systems and software products.
Experience with networking and network troubleshooting methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to lift up to 30 lbs., with or without assistance on occasion
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Track record of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to meet deadlines.
Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours when necessary for special installations, implementations, and upgrades.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction.
Experience with ticketing systems
A Certification preferred (not required)
Net, CCNA/NP, MCP certifications preferred (not required)
