Description Are you a talented Staff Accountant looking to take the next step in your career? An exciting and dynamic firm has partnered with Robert Half to find a top-notch Staff Accountant to join their growing team in Appleton, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of accounting duties, including preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. As a vital member of the team, you'll also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close and working closely with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. You will also participate in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You will be responsible for maintaining and adhering to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP. Key responsibilities: - Maintain and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments - Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision - Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules - Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting - Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll - Play a role in the month end, quarter end, and year-end closing process, including monthly financial close workbook preparation - Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation - Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed.

Looking for a candidate who:

  • Is competent and proficient in spreadsheets and databases.

  • Has experience in Accounts Payable (AP), cash reconciliations, Oracle, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, financial analysis, bank account reconciliation, account reconciliation, Fixed Asset Accounting, general ledger, Accounts Receivable (AR), and general familiarity with SAP.

  • Has knowledge of journal entries, ERP systems, and month-end closings.

  • Holds a BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics and has recent and relevant accounting experience.

  • Possesses experienced organizational, written and verbal communication skills, top-notch analytical, quantitative, and social skills.

  • Is a self-starter and has the ability to identify issues and resolve problems.

  • Is comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment.

  • Pays attention to detail and can follow standard procedures.
