Description

Robert Half is looking for a Systems Engineer. The Systems Engineer is responsible for managing software distribution, patch management, script creation for data analytics and automation, advancing problem management, implementing new technologies and innovative solutions within the organization. The position requires strong technical skills in retail and/or dining systems and as well as great collaboration and interpersonal skills in cross function environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Define and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess system health status, implementing preventative measures and processes to ensure optimal performance.

• Utilize scripting to collect data and perform in-depth analysis, evaluating business impacts and prioritizing problem resolutions.

• Manage preventive maintenance and ensure systems are up to date on application and operating system levels through change requests, projects, and release and deployment processes.

• Responsible for software distribution and Windows patching, ensuring systems function normally postdeployment by conducting validation tests.

• Define disaster recovery processes and collaborate with internal technical teams, business units, and external stakeholders.

• Work with offshore vendors to create quality assurance plans and perform testing for fixes and enhancements, collaborating with software vendors and IT teams to implement changes in the production environment.

• Investigate equipment failures and difficulties, diagnosing faulty operations and making recommendations for improvement.

• Create models or diagrams to illustrate possible solutions and document all aspects of applications or systems for future reference.

• Understanding POS interfaces with central systems, payment middleware, gateway, processor, and acquirer.

• Create gold images, build prototypes for pilots, create staging and configuration processes.

• Lead teams in identifying trends, root causes, and solutions to resolve problems logically, creatively, and structurally.

• Collaborated with cross-functional teams to integrate POS systems with existing business applications and backend databases.

• Translate complex business challenges into technical requirements, delivering solutions to meet business needs effectively.

• Participate in projects and enhancements that involve changes to applications which would include determination of user requirements, testing of changes, preparation of operational procedures.

• Configured and deployed POS hardware and software components, including terminals, scanners, printers, and payment processors.

• Provided technical support and troubleshooting for POS systems, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain service levels.

• Provide technical support and training to Store Systems Analyst and Store Support Analyst.

• Stayed abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to continually improve POS system design and implementation processes.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.S. degree in engineering, computer science, networking or relevant field or equivalent experience

• Writes, maintains, and reviews complete and concise technical and architecture documentation.

• Presents training presentations on multiple technical levels.

• Have broad and strong knowledge of Store Systems hardware and software including POS, peripherals, pinpad, self-checkout, self-ordering kiosk, mobile solutions, etc.

• Understanding of ITIL framework especially in Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release and Deployment, etc.
