Robert Half Finance & Accounting Part-Time Payroll Specialist in BALTIMORE, Maryland

Robert Half is currently seeking a Part-Time Payroll Specialist for a well-respected educational institution in Baltimore, MD. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Confidentially enters and maintains all employee data in M-Pay.

  • Reviews time cards of hourly personnel and verifies calculation of hours.

  • Prepares the semi-monthly transmission to payroll service and processes payment for all out of state payroll taxes on a quarterly basis.

  • Ensures compliance with all Affordable Care Act requirements.

  • Maintains all records related to payroll, ensuring compliance with regulations regarding fingerprinting, wage garnishments, and documentation to support all withholdings.

  • Coordinates the processing and distribution of W-2's and reviews the payroll service bill for payment.

  • Reconciles withholdings, deductions, and bills from records monthly.

  • Coordinates the "onboarding" of new employees with HR Specialist and processes fingerprint checks on all new to ensure compliance.

  • Attends staff meetings as needed and runs various payroll reports for auditing purposes.

  • Electronically submits employee and employer contributions for HSA accounts.

  • Assists with the open enrollment and the preparation of annual benefit statements.

  • Notifies health insurance, flexible benefits, and COBRA services of any changes in an employee status. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years' experience in payroll.

  • Associates Degree or higher is required.

  • Certified Payroll preferred.

  • Must have experience processing for 200+ employees.

  • M-Pay software experience is a plus, but not required.
