Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant located in BALTIMORE, Maryland. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks, including managing accounts payable and receivable, conducting bank reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger. You will also be expected to demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
Responsibilities:
• Conducting regular bank and general ledger reconciliations
• Processing journal entries
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Conducting monthly reporting and end-of-month close duties
• Performing credit card reconciliations
• Utilizing Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and report creation, including the use of VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
• Maintaining IRS W-9 Forms and assisting with audits
• Overseeing electronic uploads of Form 1099
• Performing compensation calculations for attorneys
• Handling ad-hoc reporting as required
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Staff Accountant role
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger and Journal Entries
• Proficiency in Month End Close procedures
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Table and VLOOKUP functions
• Experience in handling W-9 Forms
• Previous involvement in Audit processes
• Experience with 1099's
• Familiarity with Monthly Reporting procedures
• Experience in Credit Card Reconciliations
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team and independently
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
