Robert Half Accounting Manager in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Description This Accounting Manager position with a Healthcare/NHS company offers the opportunity to be recognized and rewarded for your hard work and results. A dynamic software company is searching for a proficient Accounting Manager who will bring a result-oriented attitude to their team. The Accounting Manager is essential to daily operations, including preparing and reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, as well as financial statements, maintaining the general ledger system, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, and related tasks. The accounting and finance operations of the company will preferably be established and scaled by the individual in this position. Offered on a long-term contract / contract employment basis, this opening is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a company that values its employees efforts. This position is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Your responsibilities

Drive and manage the full accounting team performance of the close process to meet tight deadlines

Collaborate with FP& A and accounting management to deliver relevant and timely reporting of financial data analytics, including monthly flash report, key financial metrics and actual spend against budgets/outlook

Regular review and analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts

Assist in the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including document preparation, data analysis, integrity validation and reconciliation processes

Prepare various technical accounting analyses, policies and procedures Requirements - Recent relevant financial experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

  • Financial statement preparation experience preferred

  • Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation

  • Strong familiarity with general ledger

  • Microsoft Excel experience highly desired

  • Month end closings experience

  • Proven technical skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset

  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively
