Description
Robert Half is partnering with an architecture firm in Baton Rouge looking for a project accountant. The role involves a blend of accounting, financial analysis, and project management responsibilities tailored to the unique needs of the architectural industry. You will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, budget management, and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor project budgets and expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
Review project contracts and agreements to ensure accurate financial terms.
Track project revenue, costs, and profitability.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for projects.
Analyze project financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Present financial reports to project managers and senior management.
Generate client invoices based on project milestones and deliverables.
Review invoices for accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate with clients and internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
Monitor project expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Implement cost control measures to ensure projects stay within budget.
Provide guidance to project teams on cost management best practices.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project financial records
Collaborate with project managers to forecast project financials and cash flow.
Participate in project meetings to provide financial insights and recommendations.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve financial issues and challenges.
Requirements
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in the field of accounting.
• Proficient knowledge in GAAP Accounting is required.
• Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting is expected.
• Should be able to handle customer invoices efficiently and accurately.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• Should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Must have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is expected.
• Attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively is required.
• Professional certification like CPA is considered a plus.
