Description
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Benicia, California. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing journal entries, conducting monthly close procedures, and preparing balance sheet account reconciliations. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record journal entries for company accounts
• Conduct monthly close procedures ensuring all deadlines are met
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
• Prepare sales & use tax returns
• Distribute weekly and monthly financial reports
• Prepare schedules for Audits
• Record monthly accruals and reconcile to actuals as they occur throughout the month.
Requirements
• Hold a professional qualification in accounting or finance.
• At least 3 years of experience in a Sr. Accountant role or similar.
• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in General Ledger management and Journal Entries.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in Month End Close procedures.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, and Dynamics
• Experience in managing Fixed Assets.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
