Robert Half Senior Accountant in Boca Raton, Florida

Description

  • Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial transactions, reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of financial statements.

  • General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing and posting journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and allocations.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP and company policies. Analyze variances and trends to provide meaningful insights to management.

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform complex balance sheet account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and accruals.

  • Intercompany Accounting: Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of intercompany billing and settlements.

  • Revenue Recognition: Assist in revenue recognition process, including review of contracts, calculation of revenue recognition, and compliance with accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606).

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting to support management decision-making. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies.

  • Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors and provide support during financial audits, reviews, and tax filings. Prepare audit schedules and respond to audit inquiries.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Stay current on accounting standards and updates.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance controls, and automate repetitive tasks. Implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting or financial reporting roles.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial accounting principles.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in a public accounting firm or public company environment is a plus.
