Description
Robert Half currently has a permanent opportunity for an experienced Staff Accountant to join their growing team in the Real Estate & Property industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will review schedules for the reporting processes, take part in compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Boca Raton, Florida area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.
Your responsibilities in this role
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

Requirements
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Experience with ERP systems
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Solid understanding of Financial Statement
Command of property accounting in current or recent role
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
