Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Brea, California

Description

On behalf of a client, a fast growing distributor in Brea, we are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk. This role is critical in providing accounting and clerical support to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial transactions and record-keeping processes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounts payable. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general office filing duties to maintain organized and accessible records

• Assist with data entry of accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness

• Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to manipulate data, perform calculations, and generate reports as needed

• Maintain organized electronic filing systems for accounts payable records, including renaming files and folders as necessary

• Open, review, and file emails related to accounts payable, ensuring important correspondence is properly documented and accessible

• Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal departments regarding payment status and discrepancies

• Conduct general office tasks such as copying, scanning documents, faxing, and mailing

• Open and monitor mail, emails, and scan/index carrier invoices and documents into software

• Respond to customer and carrier inquiries, demonstrating excellent communication skills

• Monitor and update address changes, ensuring accurate customer and vendor records

• Collaborate on special projects assigned by the accounting department, utilizing Excel for data manipulation and reporting.

Requirements

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data manipulation).

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with internal and external stakeholders.

· Problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
