Robert Half Tax Analyst in Burlington, New Jersey

Description

Robert Half is looking for a Tax Analyst to join our client! The Tax Analyst will primarily be responsible for the personal property function in the organization’s along with compliance in the use tax area. The Tax Analyst will also be responsible for providing audit, basic research and analysis of the purchases to determine proper taxability. Major responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the tax compliance for personal property taxes - provide information to the outsourced specialist to prepare the returns, review the returns and approval of the payments.

  • Handle all personal property audits which includes interaction with county auditors and stores when necessary.

  • Review, research and analyze all purchases of expenses and fixed assets for the company to determine the proper taxability.

  • Accrue all necessary tax and prepare monthly schedules to be reported to the proper taxing authorities.

  • Prepare monthly journal entries for the use tax accruals and distributions.

  • Assist in the reconciliation of the use tax general ledger account.

  • Research sales and use tax rules and regulations to determine the proper taxing of all purchases for the company.

  • Perform miscellaneous responsibilities and projects as needed.

    Requirements

The ideal Tax Analyst candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education.

Other requirements for the Tax Analyst c position include and are not limited to:

  • 2+ years of professional tax or accounting experience, preferably within a large professional services or public accounting environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Proficient in Accounting and the department’s Accounting/Financial Systems and tax returns

  • Tax knowledge, including compliance, research, process, and procedures

  • Solid analysis, research, and audit skills

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Effective time management – manages multiple tasks; organized; on top of time sensitive tasks
