Description

We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing administrative tasks. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations in the front office, contributing to a positive patient experience and facilitating effective communication between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff.

Responsibilities -

  • Greet patients with a warm and welcoming demeanor, both in person and over the phone.

  • Schedule appointments and assist patients with appointment reminders.

  • Verify patient information and insurance coverage, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.

  • Collect co-payments and process payments accurately.

  • Answer phone calls promptly and direct inquiries to the appropriate department or staff member.

  • Maintain a tidy and organized reception area.

  • Retrieve and file medical records as needed.

  • Assist with administrative tasks such as faxing, scanning, and data entry.

  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and address patient needs promptly.

  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

  • Handle patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

    Requirements

Requirements -

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.

  • Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar role, preferably in a medical setting.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills with a patient-centric approach.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures is desirable.

  • Willingness to adhere to all healthcare regulations and policies.
