Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Inventory Clerk in Canton, Ohio. The role is crucial in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the efficient flow of goods within the warehouse. The job involves meticulous management of inventory levels, fulfilling orders promptly and accurately, and contributing to the smooth functioning of warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records using electronic systems or manual counts

• Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies

• Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment orders as needed

• Organize and arrange inventory within the warehouse for easy access and efficient picking

• Receive and prioritize picking orders based on urgency and customer requirements

• Utilize picking lists or electronic systems to locate and retrieve parts from designated storage locations

• Ensure picked items are in good condition and match order specifications

• Pack items securely and appropriately for shipping, considering fragility and size

• Inspect incoming and outgoing parts for damages or defects, reporting any discrepancies or issues to the appropriate personnel

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area to facilitate efficient operations and uphold safety standards

• Coordinate with other warehouse staff to optimize workflow and resolve any issues that may arise

• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding inventory levels, stock discrepancies, and any other relevant matters

• Collaborate with shipping and receiving teams to ensure seamless transfer of goods

• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including proper lifting techniques and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Requirements • Proficiency in order picking is essential for this role

• Must be experienced in handling packing slips

• Familiarity with conducting annual inventory is required

• Must have strong organizational skills for managing and tracking inventory

• Must have excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order picking and inventory counts

• Knowledge of inventory software and databases is preferred

• Must have good communication skills to liaise with other departments and suppliers

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Physical stamina is required as the role may involve lifting heavy items

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
