Description Looking to take the next step in your accounting career? Check out this fantastic opportunity for a Staff Accountant through Robert Half at a dynamic firm in the Healthcare/NHS industry. In this role, you will have responsibility over the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will have charge over many aspects of internal reporting. This position will also require you to participate in compliance, as well as communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. An involved position, you will be producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Based in the Carrollton, Texas area, this company is offering a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity that's sure to challenge as well as reward effort.
What you get to do every day
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation Requirements - Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Experience with ERP systems
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
5+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Experience with VLOOKUP
Experience with Daily Reconciliation
Credit Card Reconciliation experience preferred
Good understanding of Dynamics GP
Earlier work involving general ledger
Adeptness in financial reconciliation
Deep understanding of cash reconciliations
Knowledge of Bank Account Reconciliation
Previous experience working with Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics
Comprehension of Pivot Table
General familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)
Background working with journal entries
Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience desired
Accounts Payable (AP) experience highly preferred
Microsoft Excel experience highly valued
Demonstrated knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Practical knowledge of month end closings
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Strong attention to detail
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
