Description

We are seeking a diligent Controller to join our team in the construction industry based in the Salinas area, California. This role involves overseeing financial operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. The Controller will be instrumental in enhancing accounting procedures, auditing workflow processes, and managing various aspects of IT, HR, and property management.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee various financial operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger management.

• Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting procedures and internal controls to optimize efficiency and compliance with industry standards and company policies.

• Audit workflow processes to ensure accurate processing of all accounting transactions.

• Coach and mentor accounting staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring adherence to established protocols.

• Uphold a meticulous system of controls over accounting transactions, enforcing documented policies and procedures to maintain the integrity of financial records.

• Manage various aspects of IT, HR, and property management, necessitating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Leverage expertise in construction accounting within a fast-paced environment that prioritizes accuracy and efficiency.

• Demonstrate proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, DCAA, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP Solutions, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Budget Processes.the

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role within the Construction/Contractor industry

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services

• Knowledge of DCAA regulations and requirements

• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Ability to manage all accounting functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proven track record in auditing

• Experience in managing budget processes

• Must have a strong ethical standard and integrity

• Excellent leadership and team management skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (Master's degree preferred)

• CPA certification would be an added advantage.
