Description Robert Half is helping a renowned services company find an ambitious candidate to fill the role of a Controller. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation

  • Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection

  • Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

  • Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

  • Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

  • Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

  • Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed Requirements

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • CPA/MBA preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

  • Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

  • Bank reconciliations experience

  • Command of Construction Accounting

  • Cash management experience

  • Proven knowledge of Accounting management

  • Comprehensive knowledge of budget management

  • Strong familiarity with Construction Cost

  • Well-founded grasp of financial reporting
