Description Robert Half has an opportunity for someone with a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions and have experience taking charge of an accounting and clerical department to become a Controller at a reputable company. In this role, it will be critical for you to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. How you will make an impact
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll Requirements - Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Proven knowledge of QuickBooks
Solid understanding of GAAP Accounting
Proficiency in month end closings
Expertise in US GAAP
Experience with Ad Hoc Reporting
Ad Hoc Analysis experience
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Detailed and have the ability work independently
