Robert Half Credentialing Specialist in Charlotte, North Carolina
Description
Our client is looking for a Credentialing Specialist to join their team for a 1 year contract. As a Credentialing Specialist, you will enjoy the convenience of working from home, provided you are equipped with a Windows 10 Laptop or CPU (no Chromebooks, preferably no Macs), a minimum of a 2.0 GHZ processor speed, and 8.0GB or more DDR2 RAM. The position of Credentialing Specialist requires a stable internet connection with at least 50mbps download and 25mbps upload speeds, Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher, and the use of two monitors is recommended for optimal performance. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm EST.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
Screen provider credentialing and re-credentialing packets, request missing information, and resolve discrepancies between supplied information and findings from other sources such as State Dental Boards.
Create and update provider information in the credentialing system to ensure timely completion and high accuracy.
Handle provider inquiries via phone and correspondence, researching and verifying provider participation status and performing all applicable credential verifications.
Contact providers to update missing or expired information and process both incoming and outgoing mail.
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate and timely processing of all credentialing activities.
Maintain confidentiality and security of provider information.
Manage and resolve provider inquiries and issues effectively.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the credentialing system.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu of education.
Minimum of 2 years related experience in a similar role.
Knowledge of products, policies, and terms of provider participation expected after training.
Strong mathematical skills for compiling and validating statistical computations.
Excellent command of English grammar with strong editing and proofreading skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, and familiarity with Access and other database applications.
Exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; knowledge of the health care industry is an advantage.
Ability to operate standard office equipment and spend long hours at the computer.
Physical ability to sit for extended periods, and occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb, and lift up to 25 pounds.
