Robert Half System Administrator in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description

We are seeking a talented System Administrator to join our client's dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software, including operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).

  • Manage and maintain virtualization platforms, such as VMware.

  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource utilization to ensure optimal performance and availability.

  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.

  • Administer and support network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

  • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical data and minimize downtime.

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with company policies and compliance requirements.

  • Collaborate with IT team members and stakeholders to identify technology needs and implement solutions that meet business objectives.

  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, resolving issues promptly and effectively.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in system administration roles.

  • Proficiency in server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).

  • Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.

  • Knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).

  • Familiarity with security best practices and tools, such as antivirus software, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA Server+, or equivalent are a plus.
