Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Chesapeake, Virginia
Description We are offering a role in the retail industry situated in CHESAPEAKE, Virginia. The job function of this role is primarily as an Accounts Payable Clerk. This position offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Manage an AP inbox, ensuring all incoming communication is addressed in a timely and accurate manner
• Enter and match invoices, ensuring all details are correct and up-to-date
• Work with vendors to resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise
• Process customer credit applications, maintaining accuracy and efficiency
• Maintain accurate customer credit records, updating any changes as necessary
• Monitor customer credit accounts, taking appropriate action to collect delinquent payments
• Utilize Accounts Payable (AP) skills to ensure all financial transactions are handled correctly. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role or similar
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and systems
• Knowledge of retail industry standards and practices related to accounts payable
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Familiarity with accounting software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Detail-oriented and able to work with a high volume of transactions
• Proactive problem solver with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred.
