Robert Half Staff Accountant in Chicago, Illinois
Description We are offering a contract to hire opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team in the Real Estate & Property industry, based in CHICAGO, Illinois. This role involves a variety of tasks related to managing our company's general ledger. The Staff Accountant will play a key part in conducting bank reconciliations, handling accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with month-end close processes.
Responsibilities:
• Handle the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions
• Manage accounts receivable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Conduct regular bank reconciliations
• Maintain and update the general ledger
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries
• Assist in the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reports
• Utilize financial software systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP to streamline accounting tasks
• Respond to any inquiries regarding accounting records and processes. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Knowledge of General Ledger maintenance
• Ability to prepare and maintain Journal Entries
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions
• Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information.
