Robert Half Assistant Controller in City of Industry, California
Description Robert Half has an open position for an ambitious Assistant Controller to join a prestigious company. This Assistant Controller role reports to the Controller and manages the accounting staff. An Assistant Controller position has opened up with one of our clients. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with a demonstrated history of resolving problems after identifying issues. You'll want to apply for this fantastic opportunity as soon as you can! Your responsibilities
Help ensure a competent, trained staff through regular assessment, goal setting and development
Encourage implementation and certify adherence to accounting policies and procedures
Guide the accounting team during the closing process to arrange that deadlines are met
Advanced preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
Develop relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, actual spend against budgets/outlook, and key financial metrics
Identify and develop process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
Other duties as requested
Backfill for Controller as provided
Assure regular account reconciliation to completion
Help with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
Prepare a variety of technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures
Classify and develop Ad Hoc financial reports
Create accountability and the meeting of deliverables Requirements
5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
- Prior accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
Journal entries experience preferred
Proficiency in bank reconciliations
Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
General familiarity with budget forecasting
Proven knowledge of auditing
Well-founded grasp of Manufacturing Cost Accounting
Foundational knowledge in Monthly Bank Reconciliation
Experience with SOX
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
CPA a plus
Ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Strong technical background in public accounting (GAAP)
- Extensive knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
