Description

Chris Willhite, CPA and VP of Recruiting has teamed up with a biotech firm in Addison to recruit for a Controller. The position will report to the President of the firm.

Position: Financial Controller Location: Addison, Texas Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end and year-end financial closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with GAAP.

• Manage the bookkeeping process using QuickBooks or other accounting software, maintaining organized and up-to-date financial records.

• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.

• Collaborate with senior management to develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.

• Conduct regular financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.

• Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

• Coordinate with external auditors for annual financial audits and assist in the preparation of audit schedules and financial statements.

• Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams, offering financial expertise and advice on budgeting, cost control, and financial performance.

• Stay up-to-date with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices, recommending process improvements as needed.

• Collaborate with colleagues to foster a culture of financial accountability and transparency across the organization.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred.

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, demonstrating a solid understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.

• Proficient in using QuickBooks or other accounting software.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, capable of effectively presenting complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

• Proactive mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement and driving process efficiencies.

• High ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and ERP Solutions

• Expertise in ADP - Financial Services and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Familiarity with DCAA requirements and regulations

• Ability to manage Accounting Functions effectively

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proficiency in auditing and ensuring compliance with financial regulations

• Experience in managing Budget Processes efficiently

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills

• Willingness to keep up-to-date with the latest financial regulations and best practices in financial management.
