Robert Half Senior Payroll Accountant in Dallas, Texas

Description We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director in the manufacturing industry, based in Dallas, Texas. As a Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director, your role will revolve around managing and overseeing various function-based accounting activities, completing month-end duties, and interacting with accounting partners across the globe.

Responsibilities:

• Handle specific function-based accounting activities, such as accruals, deferrals, and allocations, particularly for payroll and employee benefits.

• Carry out accurate and timely month-end close duties, including recording journal entries and performing variance analysis.

• Engage with accounting partners in North America and other regions.

• Prepare and review reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts, ensuring their accuracy.

• Communicate any unreconciled items to the management team.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and IFRS accounting requirements, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.

• Work directly with internal and external auditors to ensure the successful and timely completion of internal audits and quarterly/annual reviews.

• Proactively identify and implement process improvements as necessary.

• Complete special project work as assigned.

• Utilize skills such as Accruals, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Benefits Payroll, SAP, and Oracle in performing tasks and duties.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to grow and excel in the field of payroll and accounting. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years experience in a payroll supervisory or managerial role within the manufacturing industry

• Proficient in payroll software such as SAP and Oracle

• Experience in accruals and balance sheet reconciliation

• Familiarity with benefits payroll and the ability to manage such processes effectively

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills

• Broad knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

• Demonstrated ability to lead a team, foster a positive work environment, and manage staff performance effectively

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
