Description
We are seeking a skilled Medical Biller Collector with proven experience in a laboratory setting to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will take charge of billing and collection tasks, ensuring that we submit accurate claims and maintain effective billing procedures according to industry standards.
Responsibilities:
Regularly bill and submit claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by paper.
Follow up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle timeframe.
Perform regular insurance verification and pre-authorizations.
Resolve patient billing inquiries and problems, clarify necessary information and determine feasible payment plans.
Comprehend and adhere to all-relevant laboratory billing codes.
Evaluate patient's financial status and establish budget payment plans.
Adhere to all healthcare regulations, medical laws, and ethical standards.
Perform other duties as assigned and maintain an organized workflow.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Medical Biller Collector in a laboratory setting.
Knowledge of medical billing, collections, and payment regulations.
Proficiency in using medical software, billing software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication, administrative and customer service skills.
Detail-oriented and capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding.
High level of professionalism with a keen sense of urgency.
