Robert Half Technology Software Engineer in FAIRFIELD, Ohio

EST Software engineers design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications. They participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Software engineers are expected to be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. *4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Primary Work Activities:

  • Identify and correct noted bugs/issues in product codebase.

  • Assist manufacturing personnel with software and hardware systems production issues.

  • Develop and implement new functionality as required.

  • Assist in development of product documentation for all phases of product lifecycle.

  • Identify resource requirements for requested new features and functionality in product codebase.

  • Assist customer service and service technician personnel in resolution of software and hardware systems issues.

  • Develop and implement software and hardware systems unit testing as required for products.

  • Collaborate with others to determine design specifications or details.

  • Integration of product sustainment tasks into our quality assurance system.

  • Communicate project information to others.

  • Assist in new product development. Essential Job Skills:

  • Experience developing desktop and embedded applications with Microsoft .Net technologies. Windows OS's, Windows embedded OS's, VB.Net, C#, C++, Winforms, WPF.

  • Experience with standard interfaces and peripherals such as USB, Ethernet and RS232/485.

  • Ability to write technical documentation and reports.

  • Ability to use electronic testing equipment.

  • Experience with Agile lifecycle methodologies using Microsoft Team Foundation technologies.

  • Experience with ARM core microcontroller firmware development.

  • Experience with control process loops.

  • Experience with OSI and TCP/IP models.

  • Experience with digital communication protocols I2C, I2S, SPI and UART.
