Robert Half Payroll Manager in Fishers, Indiana

Description Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Payroll Manager. This Payroll Manager will be responsible for work on tax-related tasks, such as W2 forms, preparing reports and updating policies, and will help achieve standards that are necessary for growth within the financial department. What you get to do every day

  • Arrange payroll systems and timekeeping

  • Abide by relevant laws and internal policies

  • Respond to all questions related to payroll and resolve issues

  • Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams

  • Generate systems that process payroll account transactions, like salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments

  • Regulate system upgrades and the processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises)

  • Manage the accuracy of records and prepare reports

  • Oversee and train payroll assistants and clerks

  • Handle payroll tax audits and collaborate with auditors Requirements - Compliance knowledge

  • 2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field

  • Superb understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes

  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills

  • Accomplished in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion

  • 5+ years of payroll experience

  • Proficiency in a range of payroll applications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)

  • Solid grasp on current payroll procedures and related laws

  • CPP, CPM, or other related professional certifications is a plus
