In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing and managing all tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations, and providing strategic tax planning advice to the organization. This role is integral to the financial operations of the organization and requires a high level of attention to detail and expertise in tax law.

Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage all tax-related activities within the organization • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations • Provide strategic tax planning advice to the organization • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting • Monitor changes in tax law and adjust tax strategies as needed • Use Lacerte Tax Software for tax preparation and management • Handle individual tax-related matters • Develop and implement tax policies and procedures within the organization • Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants as needed • Provide guidance and training to entry level staff on tax-related matters Requirements • Candidate must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in the role of a Tax Manager in a public sector setting.

• Proficiency in using Lacerte Tax Software is a crucial requirement for this role.

• Applicants should possess substantial experience and expertise in handling individual tax matters.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required in order to effectively liaise with clients and team members.

• The role requires a high level of analytical ability and problem-solving skills to navigate complex tax issues.

• The candidate should possess a solid understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations and have the ability to keep updated with changes in tax legislation.

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is required. A CPA or additional relevant certification would be considered an advantage.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously are necessary for this role.

• The candidate should demonstrate a high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required.

• Familiarity with other financial software would be considered an asset.

• The candidate should be able to work independently and also collaboratively within a team setting.
