Description We are looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in the Healthcare/NHS industry. This role is based in Fresno, California, and offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. The Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for a range of tasks, including insurance billing, accounts receivable management, and interacting with insurance companies.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of insurance billing and provide a comprehensive understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)

• Show proficiency in Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), National Drug Code (NDC), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) and ICD-10 coding, including multi-specialty billing

• Manage accounts receivable effectively, which includes addressing zero EOBs, composing letters of appeal, and investigating unpaid claims

• Handle Correct Coding Initiative (CCI) edits and ICD-10 (Local Coverage Determination) LCD Edits

• Expertly handle private pay, Medicare/Medicaid, and Medi-Cal insurance billing requirements

• Interpret EOBs accurately and efficiently

• Verify benefits with insurance companies to ensure smooth processing of claims

• Utilize skills in Medical Billing and Microsoft Excel to optimize the billing process and maintain accurate records. Requirements • Applicant should possess a minimum of two years of experience in the role of a Medical Billing Specialist or in a similar capacity within the healthcare/NHS industry.

• Proficiency in medical billing is a crucial requirement for this role.

• Expertise in Microsoft Excel is essential.

• The candidate should have the ability to manage and maintain accurate and organized billing information.

• Familiarity with various medical coding systems and terminologies is necessary.

• The applicant must have a strong understanding of medical insurance policies, claims procedures, and regulatory compliance.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for effective interaction with patients, medical professionals, and insurance companies.

• The candidate should demonstrate problem-solving skills to resolve billing discrepancies and discrepancies.

• Ability to work independently and in a team, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Attention to detail, accuracy, and a high level of organization are essential.

• Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection protocols relating to patient information.
