Description
A reputable local CPA located in the Galveston area is seeking a Sr. Tax Accountant to join their company. The Sr. Tax Accountant will file federal and state tax returns and work with financial and income tax statements, ensuring they comply with tax laws. Major responsibilities
Organize any outsourced tax preparation work
Make sure that clients comply with federal, state and local tax regulations
Keep up-to-date with tax changes and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications
Recognize ways to improve profits and tax savings
Assemble tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, reports and maintain a company's tax database
Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings
Provide management with information regarding the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws
Accurately assemble annual and quarterly tax reports
Requirements
Excellent organizational skills
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
CPA highly preferred
Exceptional time management skills preferred
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
Bachelors or masters degree in Accounting or relevant field required
Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
3+ years of public or corporate tax
