Payroll Processing • Process payrolls for bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly payroll companies • Knowledge of policies and application of policies and procedures • Perform audits on the time records based on pay policies • Follow the payroll run sheet to ensure the payroll is done accurately • Meet payroll deadlines • Balance hours from time and attendance system to the payroll system • Upload batches using MS Add Ins • Data entry of time records and compare system edit to time records to ensure it was entered correctly • Data entry of direct deposits and tax withholdings • Set up and maintain court order deductions • Set up and maintain miscellaneous deduction such as gift shop, badges, pharmacy • Refund insurance deductions • Calculate retroactive pay • Reconcile each payroll using excel spreadsheet, making sure gross pay, taxable and taxes withheld balance each pay period, quarter and year to date. • Prepare necessary check requests and related documentation for deductions from the payroll such as child support, garnishment and other miscellaneous deductions Payroll Tax Administration • Knowledge of gross to net calculations • Knowledge of taxable wages • Able to meet deadlines for paying payroll taxes • Able to balance taxable wages each pay period, quarterly and year to date • Able to complete 941(Quarterly Federal Tax Return) • Able to complete quarterly unemployment reporting • Able to balance year to date wages to W-2 reports Data Entry and Integrity • Validate employee maintenance has been entered correctly into the payroll system • Maintain PTO plans based on status changes entered by Human Resources • Maintain all deductions and taxes Customer Service • Provide information and reports to internal and external customers • Resolve employee payroll issues • Answer employee questions regarding their payroll and PTO records • Provide wage information for wage verification request with proper documentation • Keep all employee information confidential and stored securely • Maintain a good working relationship with managers • Assist auditors as requested Technology • Ability to navigate the payroll and time and attendance softwares • Ability to use all Microsoft product such as Outlook, Word and Excel • Conduct training sessions for new managers on the necessary software in order to complete payroll tasks
