Robert Half Accountemps Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Grandview, Washington

Grandview area company is seeking an Accounting Manager. This person will report to the Corporate Controller with continued communication to other Account Managers within lateral lines of the corporation as well as requested by General Manager.

Expectation is to be a leader and structure within order to cash, and procure to pay, general ledger accounting, closing, and consolidate and report processes as appropriate to fulfill the needs within the organization.

Significant Activities & Deliverables: • Individual will maintain ownership of the business unit process map and work with Corporate Controller to make improvements or adjustments as deemed necessary. • Understand, document, and implement proper procedures that allows effective accounting for monitoring of contracts, volume rebates, and co-op advertising. • The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining chart of accounts and necessary financial operations for Business. • Responsible for Cash management, bank reconciliation, EFT processing, as well as reviewing and posting journal entries. • Preparation of key reconciliations. • Preparation/review of monthly financial statements for business unit. • Providing financial metrics for business unit scorecards to provide to GM and supporting schedules for senior management. • The accounting manager will partner with the Controller and staff accountants to ensure accuracy and timely financial reporting. • Identify and implement a system of controls with the Corporate Controller such as Grants of Authority and documented processes. • Filing of taxes and returns as related to state and federal requirements per branded/unbranded distribution of product • Other projects, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS Degree in Accounting. • Lease and Contract management experience • Strong understanding of management and cost accounting principles • Supervisory experience • 4+ years of experience in financial accounting. • Work well under pressure and meet hard deadlines throughout year as well as Month-End Close deadlines.
