Robert Half Staff Accountant in Grapevine, Texas
Description Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a permanent opportunity. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, various aspects of internal reporting will be under your responsibility. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Grapevine, Texas area, at a company where effort is rewarded.
What you get to do every single day
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP Requirements
BA/BS in Accounting required
1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Knowledge of Financial Statement
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
ERP system experience
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Proficiency in Financial Statement Audits
Adeptness in GAAP Accounting
Experience with Microsoft Excel
Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting cycle
Excel Formulas experience
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
High attention to detail
