Description
Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Payroll / Accounting Specialist. This Payroll / Accounting Specialist will be responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing and supporting the project accounting team with review and recording of invoices, and maintaining service contracts. This position will be based in Harrisburg, PA and will offer a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities of the Payroll / Accounting Specialist will include:
Prepare and process biweekly payroll.
Comply with provisions in collective bargaining agreement, as well as wage and hour law.
Monitor payroll software provider to ensure system and output is accurate.
Review payroll reports to ensure earnings, taxes and deductions are accurate prior to finalization.
Confirm new hire wages, benefits and tax elections are accurate.
Prepare and submit all pension and retirement plan reports for each pay period.
Review quarterly and annual tax filings for accuracy.
Prepare payroll funding report and general ledger journal entries for each pay period.
Complete payroll related workpapers and generate reporting required for annual audit.
Review and enter all contracts, change orders, and invoices into the accounting system.
Ensure billing rates and charges for construction pay applications and invoices agree with contracts or agreements.
Resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
Update monthly cost forecast for financial reporting.
Requirements
5+ years of payroll experience and 3+ years of related accounting experience
Microsoft Office, Payroll and Accounting system experience
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
