Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Database Administrator in Hartford, Connecticut. This position entails managing and ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of databases, with a particular focus on Oracle software and SQL based report development. The candidate will work in a team-oriented environment and will be expected to deliver high-quality work within set deadlines.
Responsibilities:
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL
• Experience with Oracle 19c RDBMS installation, patching, performance, and networking
• Availability for evening and weekend work as necessary
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Ellucian Banner and Ellucian ODS – Specifically Banner 9/ODS 9, OFM/WebLogic, E-Procurement, Evisions, IntelleCheck, Ellucian Page Builder, with installation, upgrades, and customer support
• Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL
• Experience with an integrated enterprise database and the use of database functions, procedures, triggers, indexes, etc.
• Experience working with Linux, Windows, Java, and JavaScript
• Experience with Tomcat and OpenJDK
• Ability to successfully translate user’s needs into useful computer programs
• Proficient in use of SQL, PL/SQL, and other related database systems
• Experience in Database, EO/IR systems, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, R2, Backup Technologies, Configuration Management, Database Administration, Design, Implement Strategies.
Requirements • Proficiency in Database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle is essential
• Experience with EO/IR systems is preferred
• Familiarity with R2 and Backup Technologies is required
• Strong skills in Configuration Management and Database Administration are vital
• Ability to design and implement strategies is necessary
• Demonstrated experience with Database design and implementation is important
• Proven ability in managing and ensuring the security of databases
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot database issues
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
