In this role, it will be critical for you to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. What you get to do every day

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

  • Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

  • Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

  • Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

  • Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

  • Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques Requirements - Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

  • Financial analysis experience

  • Financial reporting experience

  • Strong familiarity with month end closings

  • Command of budget forecasting

  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized

  • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • CPA or MBA preferred
