Accounting Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Accounting Manager with experience in Real Estate, Construction, or a similar industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 7-10+ years of experience, with a strong background in construction, development or property accounting. As an Accounting Manager, you will be expected to lead the team and directly contribute to the improvement of our financial processes. A proficiency in financial regulations and strong leadership qualities are indispensable components for this role. CPA certification is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  1. Overseeing and managing the general accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger.

  2. Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.

  3. Reviewing and improving accounting and financial procedures and policies.

  4. Overseeing the financial inventory control process.

  5. Managing financial reporting for construction and development projects.

  6. Reviewing budget proposals and preparing financial documents and reports.

  7. Providing analysis on financial risks and recommendations on cost reduction.

  8. Managing and supervising accounting staff; training, mentoring, and evaluating staff.

  9. Liaising with external auditors and managing auditing processes.

  10. Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 7-10+ years accounting experience in a senior role in Real Estate, Construction, or similar industries.

  2. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.

  3. CPA certification is preferred.

  4. Proven experience with construction, development, or property accounting.

  5. Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, particularly MS Excel.

  6. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.

  7. Excellent leadership skills with experience in managing a team.

  8. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
