Description
Our client is adding an experienced and highly-skilled professional to manage/direct their Logistics and Purchasing department. This Logistics and Purchasing professional should have both international and domestic experience, excelling in strategic planning, market trend analysis, and excellent purchasing and procurement strategies, both globally and locally.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing the complete operations of logistics and purchasing to ensure that the company's operational needs are met, cost-effectively.
Developing and implementing Logistics and Purchasing strategies that align with the vision and goals of the business.
Sourcing and maintaining a reliable network of suppliers/vendors both domestically and internationally.
Maintaining a thorough understanding of market trends, tariffs, and import/export regulations on the global level.
Supervising the negotiation of contracts, prices, timelines, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
Ensuring the smooth and efficient supply chain management.
Implementing and enforcing quality control measures for all logistics and procurement activities.
Budget planning, devising and driving successful cost-reduction strategies.
Assessing and managing risks associated with global logistics and procurement.
Overseeing the training and development of the logistics and purchasing teams.
Preparing and presenting detailed reports on the efficiency of logistics and procurement operations for senior management review.
Key Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
A minimum of 10+ years of experience in Logistics, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management roles, with significant experience in leadership positions.
Proven experience in handling both international and domestic vendors and suppliers.
Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, from regulations to best practices.
Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead teams effectively.
Proven ability to manage budgets and implement cost-saving measures.
Proficiency with logistics and purchasing software systems.
Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.
Impeccable oral and written communication skills.
