Robert Half Division Controller in Houston, Texas

Description

Check out this new role to be in North Houston who are looking to hire their next Divisional Controller to join their team on a permanent basis.

This opportunity is unique, as the Divisional Controller will be a true mix of Accounting and Finance.

The client is seeking an individual who can seamlessly handle the Controllership responsibilities while also owning the FP& A process offering real time analysis and advising Sr Leadership on the health of the business.

As the Divisional Controller, you will oversee your own Profit and Loss (P& L) and contribute significantly to the divisions forecasting efforts. You will actively participate in merger and acquisition activities, provide critical support to operational leadership, and serve as a trusted advisor for all financial matters within the division. Your responsibilities will include managing a dedicated team of at least 2 direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the P& L for the division, ensuring accuracy and accountability in financial reporting.

  • Lead forecasting and budgeting initiatives, providing data-driven insights for decision-making.

  • Contribute to merger and acquisition activities, bringing financial expertise to the table.

  • Collaborate with operational leadership, offering financial guidance and strategic input.

  • Serve as a trusted business advisor on financial matters for the division's leadership team.

REQUIREMENTS:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in both Accounting and Finance.

  • Previous leadership experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller, ideally from a company with revenues of at least $100 million.

  • CPA and/or MBA qualifications are highly preferred.

  • Strong preference for candidates with a background in the services, engineering, or architecture industries.
