Description
Robert Half is seeking a mid-level SOC Analyst for one of our clients in the Houston, Texas area. If you have a passion for information security, this could be the job for you! This is a long-term opportunity that requires 100% onsite work for our client in the O& G industry. In this role, you will monitor SIEM tools, scan for vulnerabilities, and mitigate threats. The work schedule is 4 days on and 3 days off, must be flexible to work night and mid shifts, including 6PM-6AM, 2PM-9PM, 10PM-6AM, 6PM-2AM.
Job Duties
Develop new signatures and correlated searches based on a variety of requirements
Document work within a security operations ticketing system
Analyze data and events within the SIEM for prioritization and priority elevation
Identify data sources and analytics for inclusion into SIEM
Remote Client System Monitoring and Analysis
Tracking, and reporting of security patch/upgrade implementation
Scheduling, execution, and tracking of vulnerability remediation activities
Information gathering, port and vulnerability scanning, and analysis according to policy
Requirements
3+ years of experience providing security monitoring and response for Security Operations Center (SOC)
Must have the ability and experience to remediate true positives and true incidents, investigate incidents to determine false positives
Experience with Insight IDR or other SIEM tools like Qradar, Crowdstrike, Splunk, etc.
Experience with log queries, log searches, and working with IPS/IDS tools.
Knowledge of ISO, NIST, PCI or other security compliance frameworks
In-depth understanding of Network Detection and Response (NDR) tools
Hands on experience with open source and commercial threat intelligence and malware analysis tools
