Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Houston, Texas

Description We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our manufacturing team in Houston, Texas. This role involves complex balance sheet, account, credit card, and bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger work. The Senior Accountant will also need to demonstrate intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to complete pivot tables, X LookUps, Sum If, averaging and macros.

Responsibilities:

• Complete complex balance sheet, account, credit card, and bank reconciliations

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger

• Use intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills to complete pivot tables, X LookUps, Sum If, averaging and macros

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all transactions

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met

• Participate in month end close processes

• Use accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports

• Identify and resolve any discrepancies in financial data

• Collaborate with external auditors, providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize service quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accountant role within the manufacturing industry

• Proven proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Demonstrable experience in managing general ledger and journal entries

• Strong skills in performing month-end close activities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

• Professional accounting certification, such as CPA or CMA, is preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Knowledge of accounting regulations and standards

• Experience with accounting software and systems.
