Description
Robert Half currently has a permanent opportunity for a Staff Accountant who's looking to build their career in a thriving, dynamic setting in the Houston, Texas area. As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Your responsibilities in this role
Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests
Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Engage in various department-wide initiatives
Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Requirements
Degree in Accounting
Big 4 Internship preferred
Proficiency in financial statement preparation
Month end closings experience desired
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience
Auditing experience preferred
Expertise in month end closings
Adeptness in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
