Robert Half Sr. Accountant/Lead Accountant in Huntersville, North Carolina

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior/Lead Accountant in our office located in Huntersville, North Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for various accounting duties such as preparing monthly journal entries, assisting in financial and tax audits, reconciling GL balance sheet accounts, and participating in the monthly close process. This position is integral to our finance team and requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly journal entries including sales, COGS, SG& A expenses, intercompany transactions, and intercompany eliminations

• Assist in company/subsidiary financial and tax audits

• Participate in the company budgeting process and monthly cost variance analysis

• Engage in monthly close and generation of monthly financials

• Provide support on month-end closing and ad-hoc projects

• Reconcile GL balance sheet accounts accurately and regularly

• Assist in project review and percent complete and revenue recognition to ensure compliance with GAAP

• Consolidate, review, and analyze monthly/quarterly/annual financial data, including the analysis of variances and identification of unusual items

• Assist finance staff with day-to-day accounting operations

• Assist with State Annual Report filings

• Review job costing and perform P& L review – variance review

• Play a crucial role in external audit processes

• Utilize NetSuite for various accounting functions

• Demonstrate strong skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, Oracle, and SAP.

Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar capacity

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations is required

• Demonstrated experience with general ledger and journal entries is essential

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary

• Experience with month end close procedures is required

• Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP software is preferred

• Excellent communication and organizational skills are necessary

• Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field is required

• Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus

• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills are essential.
