Robert Half Finance & Accounting Tax Director/Manager - Corporate in Jacksonville, Florida
Tax Director Reporting to the Controller, the Tax Director will be responsible for the Company's tax compliance (direct and indirect taxes), tax planning and accounting for income taxes. This position will develop strategic, operational and tactical plans in response to the Company's long range strategic plan. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare the Income Tax Provisions and FIN 48 tax accounting for GAAP reporting
Oversee the tax compliance cycle to ensure timely and accurate federal and state tax filings
Manage the preparation, filing and accounting for all indirect taxes (property, annual reports, sales and use, business licenses, etc.)
Oversee federal and state tax audits and notices to ensure tax efficient resolution
Drive strategic tax planning, including analysis of evolving tax law and strategy refinement
Perform Tax and GAAP (Tax related) technical research and draft the related technical memorandums
Maintains policies and procedures governing the corporate tax function
Implements, documents and maintains appropriate internal controls over the corporate tax function
Communicate across the organization and build business partnerships
Responsible for management and development of staff
Participate in other projects as required Qualifications:
Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
Proficiency in accounting for income taxes (ASC 740, FIN 48)
Proven track record demonstrating the ability to develop and manage an efficient department
Ability to lead, manage, develop, and motivate a team of staff members
Time management skills with strong attention to details; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet assigned project deadlines in a timely manner.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, problem solving, and negotiation skills
Strong presentation and public speaking skills
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
Ability to adapt to a dynamic and rapidly changing business environment
Advanced Excel skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality Requirements Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
A minimum of eight years of experience in federal taxation is required
