Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in La Porte, Texas
Description
Dynamic and rapidly growing manufacturing/construction company with in La Porte is looking to add an Accounting Manager to their team. As the Accounting Manager, you will oversee all aspects of accounting operations, with a focus on activity-based or job costing methodologies. Reporting directly to the Regional Controller, you will lead a team of two direct reports and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis.
Accounting Manager Responsibilities:
Manage month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Lead the implementation and maintenance of activity-based or job costing systems to track costs accurately.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
Conduct detailed P& L analysis, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
Collaborate with operations teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Oversee and mentor a team of two accounting professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting function.
Assist with ad hoc projects and initiatives as required.
Requirements
Accounting Manager Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
Strong understanding of activity-based costing or job costing methodologies.
Public accounting experience preferred, but industry experience will also be considered.
Hands-on experience with month-end close processes, financial reporting, and P& L analysis.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Strong leadership skills, with experience managing a team of direct reports.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
