Description
Robert Half is seeking a permanent Accounts Payable Specialist to become an essential part of a company's rapidly growing team. Your responsibilities as the Accounts Payable Specialist will include matching, batching, and coding invoices, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L, and processing checks. You will have an opportunity for career growth and advancement within this dynamic department. The opening for a permanent Accounts Payable Specialist is in the Lakewood, Colorado area.
Major responsibilities
Administer the accounts payable process from invoice approval and coding to generating payments, submitting, and filing.
Tax item maintenance functions including W9, and 1099, sales and use tax.
Prepare journal entries and month-end reconciliations for relevant GL accounts.
Coordinates with Accounting Manager to ensure vendor invoices are processed timely.
Processes payments through various third party portals and ensure appropriate approvals have been finalized.
Reconciles vendor statements on a regular basis to ensure all outstanding invoices are processed and paid timely.
Communicates with operations to make sure accounts payable receives all month end invoices and credit cards receipts timely.
Reviews AP aging on a weekly basis, adds comments and sends it to the Accounting Manager for review.
Prepares journal entries when necessary to accrue for expenses, expense prepaid amounts etc.
Files physical invoices on regular basis and maintains the digital folders for each department and each vendor.
Monitors and process centralized Accounts Payable mailbox
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associates degree in accounting or finance preferred.
3 + year experience in accounting, including integrated ERP experience.
1+ year Workday experience.
Ability to problem solve system and accounting issues as well as analyze financial data.
Attention to detail required.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage multiple deadlines.
Ability to communication and demonstrate interpersonal skills
Ability to anticipate and avoid problems
Ability to understand fundamental accounting principles.
Must be reliable and execute with a high level of confidentiality. Self-directed, results-oriented work style with ability to work in close harmony with others.
Solid willingness to accept responsibility and demonstrate innovation
Good organizational skills and detail-oriented work style
