Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Liberty, Kentucky

Description We are in search of a Senior Accountant to join our team based in Liberty, Kentucky. This role involves a range of accounting tasks including maintaining the general ledger, preparing month-end close procedures, and reconciling account balances. The chosen candidate will be a key player in our accounting department, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and contributing to the financial stability of our operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the company’s financial procedures, records, and statements to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

• Identifying ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.

• Preparing documentation for external audits and coordinating semi-annual audits.

• Analyzing financial statements for discrepancies and reconciling accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

• Delegating financial responsibilities to the accounting department and assisting with accounting tasks such as invoicing and tracking purchase orders.

• Investigating and resolving accounting irregularities.

• Reconciling balance sheets and preparing coding of invoices and incoming deposits within the weekly timeframe.

• Processing journal entries, reconciling bank statements in comparison to the general ledger, and participating in month-end close activities.

• Managing bank statements and the Accounts Receivables.

• Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws and assisting in the preparation of budgets.

• Maintaining inventory and fixed asset records in the financial system and establishing and maintaining accounting policies.

• Conducting monthly financial analysis and overseeing the Accounts Payable department.

• Familiarizing yourself with royalty trading and reconciliation processes and understanding and interpreting IRS tax code, regulations, and official guidance. Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a senior accounting role

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Experience in Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger management

• Ability to prepare Journal Entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Month End Close activities

• Proficiency in using QuickBooks

• Exceptional organizational skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and dependability

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, required

• Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
